Shopping at Nugget

The Three Amigos headed to Nugget for the pre Bodega Bay trip shopping experience! We killed it! The kids switched from crossing off the list in the iphone Cozi list and the cart while Daddy pulled the items off the shelves! We were in and out in less than 30 minutes! Brady looked at the list and noted that we picked up 102 items! Can you say "Rainman?!?!"

Brady Turns 9!

WOW! Where have we been?!

Life has been getting the best of us! With school in full swing, work schedules, daily homework assignments, four nights of soccer with a couple of games on Saturdays, Derek's off season training, photography jobs on the side, several parties: Canadian Day, October birthdays, Halloween etc....but life is GREAT!

Couple of weeks ago I had a shoot and needed a hand with the reflector, I recruited Brady and he did a great job helping me out in many ways! You have a job Brady!

What a GREAT soccer weekend!

Well check this one out, Drew's team got her first win this past week! Awesome for the girls!

Just prior to the goal that got the girls the win, Drew got tagged by a ball on her face, so she wasnt on the field when the goal was scored, but look at her face in this shot!

A few minutes later, we were watching Brady! This was a game that Brady will never forget!

Why? Because today Brady scored his first goal! Thats right! Brady was just in the right open spot when the cross came, unlike a couple of weeks ago, he made it! 

This weekend the family was invited to attend, a perfect day with games back to back, early and awesome weather! Thanks to Nana & Papa and The Orick's for making it to a memorable day for the kids!

Go Niners!

This past Sunday morning we got our 49ers gear on and had some fun taking a few shots during the game! Drew was excited to be wearing her first 49ers jersey! Got LOVE that right?!?! Go Niners and the awesomely cute girls!

Third weekend and the tables are turning...

The girls managed to look decent this past weekend! Some great signs of improvement! Awesome to see! They lost, but the improvement alone is a win!

 This weekend Drew played goleira for the first half! She did ok, someday she'll listen to her goalkeeper dad! Her true position is forward, shes got the "it" factor and plays a little pissed and aggressive!

As you can see, Drew still holds up a great smile!

 Brady's team basically got their ass handed to them...on a platter! The opposing team passed and managed the ball much better than the Tigers!

Poor Brady missed, literally, an opportunity, that players see once in one hundred games, to score!

A killer birthday party with animals!

While this would be a trip to the "Fazenda" in my days, around these places, they call it a "petting zoo!" Anyways, it was still pretty cool for the kids! Brady sure seems comfortable around animals of all shapes and sizes! Drew tends to be a bit more reserved! Still a great opportunity that we wish we could offer more often.

Soccer Weekend for 15 September!

The second round of soccer was at Bryte Park and the games were back to back! Yeppy! Drew was up first! her team is still struggling a little bit due to lack of experience and some basic fundamentals, on the flip side, Drew has now scored on two consecutive games! The shot above says it all, the feeling after a goal is THE BEST!

Believe it or not, it appears that the lefty uses her right foot when playing futebol! Totally cool!

The second game was minutes after Drew's game! Brady's team looks pretty sharp out there! Where Brady lacks in skills, he is above water when it comes to placement and spacial awareness out there! Never do you see him play bunch ball, always putting himself in the open space waiting for the right opportunity!  Way to listen to Daddy buddy!

First Soccer Weekend of the year!

Well, the Fall Soccer journey has begun! Four nights a week worth of practices and 2 games a weekend!

Thankfully our games were in the same area, with an hour between each game, which we used to have lunch! Drew's game was first, she played well, almost scored a couple of times! The girls need work, and Drew needs some conditioning if you know what I mean! She ran her tush off!!

Brady's team pulled off a 3-1 victory! He looked good for the most part, lots of improvement considering he didn't play last year!

Proud of our kids and their teams, should be an exciting year!

Tire Blow Out!

 As most of you know, on our way back from Dillon Beach this past July, more specifically, I-80 in Dixon. I knew the tires needed attention, but not like this! All of our precious cargo was on board: Melissa, Brady, Drew, and my bike! Thanks to my mad cycling skills, we're all fine and in one piece!

A cool CHP officer rolled up and with the support of his fellow CHP officer, they slowed traffic down so we could drive across the freeway and into....gulp, a freakin' Wal-Mart parking lot! There we waited for a "tow" truck, but by the time they got there, I had the car unpacked and the wheel ready to come off! With the spare on and the blown tire and wheel in the tow truck, we drove about a mile to the Dixon Les Schwab!

An hour later we drove home and everyone was safe! Lots more to come since the tire did some good damage to the car!

First Day of School 2012

Brady the horse whisper!?!?

A couple of week ago we had the opportunity to shoot a wedding in Susanville and also bring the family along! And as you can see, the location had some awesome horses! Brady connected immediately and looked as comfortable as ever while walking among the two horses and feeding them by hand! A truly touching moment, felt my Dad in spirit without a doubt!

2nd Annual Acrea-Novaes' Discovery Kingdom

For the second year, the kids have "made memories" at Discovery Kingdom in the summer! Thanks to these empty cans of Coke, we saved a ton of money, in addition to a really nice gal that gave me her extra ticket! What a great start right?!

So check this out, the park opens at 10:00, but the rides dont start running running until 10:30, ie the park is only usefull at 10:30!

This was the year that Drew grew! Girlfriend was able to ride several rides since she is now 50"!

This ride made me wanna throw up just watching it! Up and down and circles....I need a can!

More Daddy's pace!

The "wooden" ride as Drew call it! This thing feels like its gonna blow at any moment! I did ride this one with Drew!

Several years ago when we came to Discovery Kingdom with old friends Kimmie and Eric and kids, Drew wanted to ride the Go-Karts, but she was too short! The world seemed to have collapsed in her eyes! So this year I made it up and we went for a drive! Talk about cool!

The highlight was of the day was Brady! This dude went on Medusa, Kong and would've gone on V2 had he been tall enough! I felt my heart sink when I saw my little man, what seemed like miles high, going on this Medusa ride, thinking he was going to fall out of the cart! Each time Brady got off a ride, his smile was bigger than the previous ride!
